The Fellowship

“If everyone is a changemaker, there is no way a problem can outrun a solution.” – Bill Drayton

The Civic Changemakers Fellowship program identifies and supports community champions who are committed to advancing civic participation, good governance, and social justice in their communities.

Selected fellows between 18 and 35 years engage in a dynamic three-month journey designed to empower them to develop, refine, and scale citizen-led solutions that strengthen civic space and improve lives.

Launched in 2020 for residents of Kaduna State and inspired by the potential to transform governance and local leadership, the program has since expanded to all states in Nigeria. The program focuses on developing a strong foundation of knowledge, skills, values, and purpose. Fellows gain the tools to translate passion into impact, building inclusive and innovative approaches to address pressing social challenges.

The program is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and focuses on practical pathways to influence policy, strengthen institutions, and drive community-led action.

Upon completing the program, fellows will join a growing network of civic innovators dedicated to building a more just, participatory, and equitable society.
