We seek to empower, inspire and connect community champions to drive positive change.

The Civic Academy is a leadership and civic education initiative of TransparencIT that prepares citizens across generations to become catalysts for change, locally, nationally, and globally. Our programs nurture the skills, values, and imagination needed for advocates to lead with integrity, reimagine broken systems, and build a future grounded in justice, inclusion, and shared power.

The Academy exists to support the journey of individuals who are organizing on the ground, influencing policy from within institutions, or shifting hearts and minds through storytelling.

The main programs of the Academy include:

• Civic Changemakers Fellowship, for community champions driving local action;
• Civic Shapers, for students shaping the future; and
• Civic Voices, for artists, journos and storytellers shifting narratives.

Our programs are built on the belief that sustainable change requires more than intention, but community, tools and actions to make a positive impact. That is why our approach blends experiential learning, leadership development, mentorship, and community engagement.

We understand that we need leaders who can think boldly and act collaboratively to solve challenges that are central to our communities. The Civic Academy is where those leaders are shaped and supported.
